LETTER: Some missed the point
It appears that the point I was trying to make in my letter of 3-9-14 went right over some people’s heads. I hate child porn as much as the next person. I think that anyone who rapes a child should be boiled in oil and hung from a tree.
The point of my letter was to get you to think outside of the box. It is all about freedom and how fast we are losing it. When did it become a crime to watch whatever we want to watch in our own home? How would you like it if the law enforcement men came to your home and carted you off to prison for something THEY thought was inappropriate. If that were to happen maybe you would see things in a different light. That is what happened to Mr. John Prevenzano. He wasn’t arrested for something that he did but for what he was watching.
Yes, I agree that what he was watching on his computer was vile. There will always be a market for illicit sex whether it involves adults or a child. That’s why sitcoms are so full of it.
Do parents realize that there is more than one way to hurt a child? Think of all the children who are living with adults who are alcoholics, on drugs, molesters, people that argue all the time. Then we have parents that don’t give a hoot about what their children watch. They are allowed to watch endless hours of simulated murders, violence, and sex. Do these parents believe they are any less guilty than Mr. Prevenzano? Not in my book!
Turning their minds away from God, Satan uses T.V. , music , movies, and videos to entice and lure our youth into immorality. If you watch T.V. you are inviting evil into your home. And all that sex and violence is changing the way that Americans think and behave. Then is it any wonder why our youth go out into the city streets and act out what they have been watching, putting our lives and possessions in jeopardy. Yes parents, you are hurting your child. Turn off the T.V. and read your Bible and pray for forgiveness. Don’t let our version of the Gestapo find out what you have been watching. It is immoral, shameful and disgusting, and the authorities might find you out.
