Chiefs lose in overtime

VICTORIA, British Columbia - Logan Nelson' backhanded goal on a rebound with 2:18 left in overtime lifted the Victoria Royals over the Spokane Chiefs 4-3 in overtime on Sunday before 4,629 at Memorial Arena.

Dominic Zwerger scored his first playoff goal early in the first period to give Spokane a 1-0 lead.

Victoria scored three straight, but Liam Stewart put one in net early in the second to cut the lead to 3-2.

Reid Gow's power play goal tied the game midway through the third. It was the Chiefs' first power play goal in 10 attempts in the series.

Victoria leads the best-of-seven series 2-0, with the next two games scheduled for the Spokane Arena on Wednesday and Thursday. Both games will start at 7:05 p.m.
