The West girls squad was simply too much for the East to handle in the 28th Annual District 1 All-Star Game Friday night at the Mullan Athletic Pavilion.

During the course of the game the West won the battle down low and on the boards, snagging rebounds on both the defensive and offensive glass en route to a 47-32 victory.

One of the biggest matchups of the night came from two of the tallest girls on the court, Timberlake's Jessica Norlander and Kellogg's Kelsey Carter.

The two 6-footers were matched up against each other almost every time they shared the court. But it was Norlander who did the most damage, scoring a game-high 13 points on her way to taking the title of game MVP.

Stewart won the 3-point contest during halftime of the girls game, knocking down 11 of her 15 attempts and going 4-4 in a tiebreaker with Kellogg teammate Jessi Gibbons and Bonners Ferry's MacKenzie MacDonald.

The West completed the sweep of the East with the West boys pulling out a 109-101 win.

With 1:30 left in the first half Post Falls' 6-foot-7 Corey Koski - playing for the East team - gave the crowd what it had been waiting for the entire first half, driving baseline and throwing down the two-hand stuff.

Coming out of halftime down 54-52 the East began chipping away at the West's lead, catching fire from beyond the arc.

Coeur d'Alene's Justin Carpenter was named the game's MVP with 21 points.

During the halftime events Lambert took the title of 3-point champ.

In the dunk contest Carpenter walked away with the crown, completing both of his dunks in the 45-seconds allowed with a little help from Adams. On Carpenter's second dunk, Adams came off of the sideline, tossing the ball off the backboard as Carpenter trailed and slammed it through.
