Nonini seeks return to Senate

| March 21, 2014 9:00 PM

Sen. Bob Nonini is seeking re-election to the Idaho Senate.

If elected, it will be the Coeur d'Alene Republican's second term in the Senate, but his sixth as a state lawmaker. Nonini previously served four terms in the Idaho House of Representatives.

Nonini cites his years of experience as his major decision to seek re-election. He has been active in the Republican Party for 25 years. Legislation championed by Nonini created the Idaho Education Network. He has supported pro-life legislation, measures that give parents choice in education, and multiple pro-business economic development laws including the legislation behind state tax anticipated revenue, or STAR financing, which brought Cabela's to Post Falls.

During his eight years in the Idaho House, Nonini spent six serving as chairman of that chamber's education committee. He currently serves on the Senate's Education, Transportation and Agriculture Affairs Committees.
