• Resource Advisory Council to meet in Cd'A

The Bureau of Land Management Coeur d'Alene Resource Advisory Council will meet Thursday, March 27 in Coeur d'Alene. The formal business meeting will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the BLM Coeur d'Alene District Office, 3815 Schreiber Way.

The RAC, which also represents the Recreation Advisory Council for both the BLM and the Forest Service, will hear a proposal for an increase of recreation fees at some sites on the Nez Perce/Clearwater National Forests during the morning portion of the meeting. The public is welcome to attend and provide oral comment from 11-11:30 a.m. Written comments may also be submitted.

Presentations on proposed and ongoing projects in both the Coeur d'Alene and Cottonwood Field Offices will be given during the afternoon session.

The Coeur d'Alene RAC is currently accepting nominations for several soon-vacant positions on the council. Nominations will be accepted through March 27. Additional information including an online nomination form can be found at www.blm.gov.

The BLM Coeur d'Alene RAC is a 15-member panel that provides advice and recommendations to the BLM on resource and land management issues for approximately 241,000 acres of public land within 11 counties in northern Idaho.

• Information sought on vehicle burglaries

Crime Stoppers of the Inland Northwest is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest of whoever is responsible for a string of vehicle burglaries in Rathdrum.

According to a press release, on Feb. 11 the Rathdrum Police Department was dispatched to the Golden Spike retirement community after receiving reports of several vehicle burglaries.

Once on scene, the officers discovered 13 motor homes and travel trailers had been damaged and had missing property. All of the vehicles were parked in a fenced off area of the community.

The suspect, or suspects, entered through a fence on the north side of the community and caused several thousand dollars in damage to the vehicles, along with stealing several thousand dollars in property.
