Spring fishing seminar tonight at Mark's Marine

| March 20, 2014 9:00 PM

Local fishing guide and video personality Seth Burrill is the next speaker in this year's series of free spring fishing seminars hosted by Mark's Marine in Hayden.

Burrill, recognizable from his Angler's Xperience videos, will share tips and tricks on catching Chinook and coho salmon tonight at 6:30 at 14355 N. Government Way.

Mark's Marine representatives say they're excited about this year's salmon forecasts. The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife estimates 1.6 million fish will return to the Columbia River this year, and another million coho are expected to return to the Columbia in summer.

The weekly fishing seminar series takes place each Thursday and features a variety of speakers and subjects:

* March 27: Coeur d'Alene salmon by Benita Galland of the Lake Coeur d'Alene Angler's Association.

* April 3: Bass fishing by Jim Grassi, a member of the Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame, and Tony McCalmant.

* April 10: Lowrance Electronics by Mike Petony.

Attendance at the popular seminars ranges each year from 50 to 150, the maximum capacity, so organizers suggest arriving early.
