Nun to speak on 'Being Your Own Best Friend'

Learn how to have a loving relationship with yourself.

Venerable Thubten Chodron, an American nun in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, will speak on "Being Your Own Best Friend: Cultivating a Healthy Sense of Self" from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 21 in Molstead Library, Todd Hall at North Idaho College.

Ven. Chodron teaches Buddhist philosophy and meditation worldwide and has published numerous books. She was ordained a nun in the Tibetan tradition in 1977 and has practiced under the guidance of the Dalai Lama and other Tibetan masters in both India and Nepal.

Join Chodron for an evening exploring the Buddha's teachings on how to develop a kind and loving relationship with yourself. Anyone of any faith can apply these teachings in their daily lives and are welcome.

The event is sponsored by NIC, Associated Students of North Idaho College, Coeur d'Alene Dharma Friends, and the Sravasti Abbey.

The presentation is being offered at no charge, but donations are appreciated. Attendees are asked to arrive a few minutes early.
