Gloria Violet Myers Braman, 94

Gloria Violet Myers Braman, affectionately nicknamed "Dodo" by her immediate family, passed away peacefully at 94 years old on Saturday, March 15, 2014, in her home at Country Comfort Residential Care, 824 - 23rd St., Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

Gloria was born December 21, 1919, in Harvey, Ill., to George James Myers and Nora F. Harrison Myers. She was the adored youngest of nine brothers and sisters.

Gloria excelled in school and learning, and accomplished degrees her whole life. She completed her Bachelors of Arts while in her 60's in Walnut Creek, Calif. She read voraciously in her later adult life, especially enjoying Christian works. Her faith in Jesus Christ sustained her, and gave her life and death meaning.

Gloria's first job after high school was in a doctor's office in Chicago, Ill., and she continued in the medical field, retiring as an executive secretary for a doctor at Lockheed in Sunnyvale, Calif.

On July 20, 1948, Gloria married Keith Weston Braman, and they later divorced in 1958.

Gloria's career and life of excellence was rich beyond measure in friends and family.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents and siblings. She and Keith had three children who survive her: Tara Nannette Braman Humphries, born April 6, 1950, married to Kent, of Bridgeport, Texas, Todd Weston Braman, born October 27, 1951, married to Helga, of Yakima, Wash., and Beth Kathleen Braman Otto, born June 21, 1957, married to Robert, of Cataldo, Idaho; grandchildren: Monica Olsen Simon, Heidi Olsen Chandler, Alicia Braman, Alexander Braman, Drew Otto, Crystal Otto Cummings, Shannon Otto Burmeister, Pierce Otto, and Stephanie Otto; and great-grandchildren: Parker and Sutton Simon, Paisley and Westen Chandler, Tayslie and Mckenna Otto, and Landen Burmeister.
