Eberlein to run for Kootenai County commission

Marc Eberlein announced he is running for a seat on the Kootenai County commission.

Eberlein, 54, of Post Falls, is seeking the District 1 seat.

Two years ago, Eberlein nearly won the Republican primary.

He said he is a listener, understands the land-use code needs revision and will work for a balanced approach that respects the property rights of county residents.

He describes himself as an independent scholar and businessman. He said in his own business he is "financially responsible and deals fairly with clients and employees alike."

He said he is an avid outdoorsman, including fishing, hunting, backpacking and cross-country skiing.

He and his wife Elaine have been married for 36 years, and they have four children.
