Paul Wayne Hammock, 79

| March 12, 2014 8:48 AM

On March 4, 2014, Wayne Hammock passed away at Hospice House of North Idaho with his family by his side.

Wayne was born February 10, 1935, in Kellogg, ID to Eunice and Calvin Hammock. He attended school and lived in the Pinehurst/Kingston, ID area, and married Carole Jean Sivara on August 8, 1953. Wayne and Carol raised their family predominately in Pinehurst, where they owned a family business: Hammock's Hardware and Heating Service.

In 1976, Wayne and Carol moved to Coeur d'Alene where their youngest daughter, Brenda, finished her junior and senior high school education. Wayne worked for Parrott Mechanical in the heating and air conditioning industry, which he retired from in 1997. Carole also worked during that time until retiring from Mariposa, a women's clothing store.

Wayne's passions were building furniture, hobby cars, bird houses and various other things out of wood or metal. Yard work, golf, friends and family were what he enjoyed most, and his favorite foods of all were hamburgers, hot dogs, and beer.

Wayne is preceded in death by Carole Jean, his wife of 60 years. He is survived by his son, Terry (Susan) Hammock, of Dalton Gardens; daughter, Shelley Stulz, and granddaughter, Roshelle Stulz, of Phoenix, Ariz.; and daughter, Brenda (David) Arthur, and grandsons, Cole and Cory Arthur, of Mead, Wash.

Wayne is, and will be, greatly missed by family and friends.
