• Cd'A symphony to perform with young artists

Coeur d'Alene Symphony's National Young Artist Competition Concert will take place this weekend.

Seven young musicians, winners of this year's competition will perform with the orchestra Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Salvation Army Kroc Center, 1765 W. Golf Course Drive, Coeur d'Alene.

The competition took place in January, with more than 100 performers making the final cut and coming from all over the country to vie for a chance to play with a full orchestra. Each winner will play about 10 minutes of a piece, so the variety of music is always wide.

Tickets are $20/adults, $15/seniors, $8/youth and students with ID. Group and family rates available only at the symphony Office. Tickets are available from the Symphony Office (208-765-3833), Great Harvest Bread, Burt's Music, at www.cdasymphony.org, or at the door as available.

• Rehabilitation hospital grand opening today

POST FALLS - The grand opening celebration for the Rehabilitation Hospital of the Northwest will be held today from 4-7 p.m. The public is invited.

There will be tours and a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 5:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served.

The hospital at 3372 E. Jenalan Ave. in Post Falls is along Interstate 90 near the Highway 41 interchange.

The facility provides rehabilitative services for those with functional deficits as a result of brain, spinal and other injuries.

• STCU, foundation offer Personal Finance Series

The third workshop in a series offered at the Coeur d'Alene Public Library will focus on "Budgeting 101" from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, March 20.

The free workshops are sponsored by the Spokane Teachers Credit Union and the Library Foundation in the Community Room at the library, 702 E. Front Ave.

The workshop includes a light meal.
