PREP GOLF: Viking girls win Clarkston Invite

| March 11, 2014 9:00 PM

CLARKSTON, Wash. - Colton Gable shot a 78 to take medalist honors for the boys and Allison Duffin fired a 83 to lead the Viking girls to the team title on Monday at the Clarkston Invitational.

The Coeur d'Alene boys tied for second place at the Clarkston Country Club, while the girls were triumphant at Quail Ridge.

"It was windy, cold and crappy for our first time out on a course this year," Coeur d'Alene coach Bryan Duncan said. "But we played pretty good, all things considered.

"We had two boys that were expected to come out this season that didn't, and we are not where we thought we would be, but we have enough kids and we should be fine."

The Coeur d'Alene boys are back in action on Monday at the Lewiston Invite, and the girls compete in the Jim Shriver Cup on Monday at Manito Golf Club.
