Salt Lake women earn at-large bid to NJCAA hoop tourney

The NJCAA national office released the at-large selections for the 2014 NJCAA Division I men's and women's basketball national championships Sunday.

Selections were made by at-large selection committees made up of NJCAA region directors.

South Plains (Texas), Columbia State (Tenn.), Trinity Valley (Texas) and Harcum (Pa.) were selected as this year's at-large bids for the men's tournament. The College of Southern Idaho, which lost to Salt Lake Community College in the Region 18 men's title game, did not receive an at-large bid.

Butler (Kan.), Northwest Florida State, Blinn (Texas) and Salt Lake were selected as this year's at-large bids for the women's tournament. Salt Lake lost to CSI in the Region 18 women's final.

Seeding for both tournaments will take place and be released today.

North Idaho College's men's and women's teams each lost in the semifinals in their Region 18 tournaments.
