CARRIER: Joshua to the rescue

| March 9, 2014 9:00 PM

About a month ago, during the last cold period in January, my mother, Eloise Swanson of Post Falls, had a scary night!

Her carrier, Joshua (I think that is his name) saw her door standing wide open at 3 a.m., called out to her, and when there was no response, called the police. He stayed until the police came. She is hard of hearing and knew she was cold, but didn’t wake up. The police woke her after they entered her apartment. Her door did not latch, blew open and had probably been open since midnight.

I called The Press and got her carrier’s number and called to thank him, but didn’t feel that was enough to show my mom’s and my appreciation. Please let him know how thankful I am that he went above and beyond, especially in the cold weather. I am enclosing an extra $20 in my bill for him and wish it was more. I hope my mom will do the same! I am sorry I am not sure of his name, but think it was Joshua Berger.
