Update: Police pursuit of fugitive ends

Coeur d'Alene police are pursuing a fugitive in the 700 block of 21st Street.

Citizens are asked to avoid the area.

Fernan Elementary School was temporarily locked down. School resource officers are at the school. They will assist the building staff with releasing students at the end of the school day.

Buses will run normally. Parents picking up their kids can access the school from Sherman Avenue at 21st to Garden Avenue or by driving East or West on Garden Ave. No vehicle or foot traffic will be allowed North of Garden on 21st. Anyone living in the zone blocked off can contact police supervisors on scene for further directions. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
