| March 6, 2014 8:00 PM

Jeep races, elk bugling and bears - oh my! North Idaho's premier outdoor adventure show is gearing up for another year of extreme sporting, adventure and family fun.

This year, the North Idaho Sportsman's Expo brings you The Great Bear Show, a live bear experience for all ages; main arena Jeep crawls and races by Swamped and Locked Off Road; Outdoor Adventure Theater with presentations by national hunting and fishing professionals; live bird dog demonstrations; a practice archery range for every skill level; elk bugling competition; Wild Youth Zone; live yaks and quarter horses; boats, RVs, ATVs and more. The expo will showcase entertainment and educational interaction for active men, women and children of all ages.

"Not many areas have the amount of natural resources right out their back door like we do here in Idaho," says Event Chair and Hall of Fame fisherman Jim Grassi. "So families in this area benefit from making time to learn new recreational skills together. It's a healthy thing to do."

The North Idaho Sportsman's Expo will take place May 16-18 at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds. Adult pre-sale tickets will be available for $5 at all North Idaho Jifi Stops starting April 7 or for $7 at the gate. Kids 12 and younger are free! For more information visit www.nidse.com.
