Carol Ann Reasoner, 75

| March 5, 2014 9:44 AM

Carol Ann Reasoner, age 75, of Rialto, Calif., passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2014, at Legends Park Assisted Living Community in Coeur d’Alene, ID.

Carol was born to Fredrick Dale Harrison and Elsie Marie Harrison on October 29, 1938, in Salt Lake City, UT. In the early fifties Carol moved with her family to California, where she attended San Bernardino High School. She was active in her school choir and was a gifted singer.

In 1955 Carol married the love of her life, Donald Archer Reasoner, and settled in Rialto, where they lived together until Donald’s passing in May 2004. In addition to raising their two children, Carol cared for numerous foster children and was quite active in her local fellowship, Sunrise Church. Carol was also very active in Bible Study Fellowship. For many years, Carol worked as the booking agent for the Christian singing group, “Red Letter Edition.”

After her children married, Carol became an accomplished writer and had a number of articles published in prominent Christian periodicals. For over ten years, Carol wrote a monthly column, “Carol’s Kernals,” for her church women’s ministry newsletter. She modeled the Apostle Paul’s words when he told believers in Thessalonica, We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us” (1 Thessalonians 2:8 NIV).

Carol truly shared the gospel and her life with others because people were dear to her. She was touched by God’s faithfulness over the course of her life, therefore it is no surprise that her favorite song was the hymn “Great is Thy Faithfulness.”

Carol's family and friends were her delight, and her relationship with Jesus was her passion. She possessed a sharp wit, an infectious laugh, and an engaging sense of humor.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Fredrick and Elsie, and husband, Donald. She is survived by her children: Donald A. Reasoner, Jr., of South Carolina, and Teri Marie Reasoner Chandler of Coeur d'Alene, and their spouses; brothers: Louis Harrison, Richard Harrison, and Steven Harrison; sister, Betty Skipper; as well as a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and close friends too numerous to mention.

A memorial service was held Thursday, March 6, at Legends Park Assisted Living Community in Coeur d’Alene. An additional memorial service will be held in Rialto at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent in her name to Hospice of North Idaho.
