RESPONSE: Kelly fires back at critics
To those of you personally attacking me for my lampooning of Stand Your Grounders/Aryans/Tea Partiers for my suggestion of killing, cooking and eating ebony Americans:
Chris, you did not know where I “got the sick idea from.” Try reading Jonathan Swift’s 1729 essay, “A Modest Proposal.” The Gulliver’s Travels author’s straight-faced satire proposed Irish children as food and financial benefits to relieve Irish poverty and overpopulation.
Ray, please let me know the name of the Navy officer’s wife you claim I had sex with since I have no memory of it. Prostitutes, yes; officers’ wives, NO. Also, please explain your belief I was mad at officers/chiefs for giving me sea duty when I only served at two shore stations (San Miguel, Philippines, and Barbers Point, Oahu).
Someone explain how I was able to attend military Masonic lodge meetings and on base High 12 club luncheons with officers and senior petty officers and not be pro-military.
Please ask the Coeur d’Alene Press for a copy of the 2 May 2011 letter to the editor where I supported injured American Vets and supported research and development by the military.
Those of you who have been in our office know I like to talk excessively about my uncles’ and father’s military experiences. One uncle had 10 battle ribbons and survived the sinking of the Indianapolis battleship. My other uncle was on third-wave at D-day, at Remagen Bridge (last bridge across the Rhine) and at the Battle of the Bulge. My father was among the first 200 sailors to set up Camp Farragut and later at San Diego (Chief Storekeeper).
I am a supporter of small business Republicans and Democrats. I am a supporter of the Coeur d’Alene Chamber of Commerce (was 20-year member). I was a member of a pro-business local Kiwanis Club. If any of you want to lie about me being anti-Republican, be my guest.
Go stand by the grave of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin and tell him he was not stalked/cornered and killed for being a “suspicious” black child walking home from the 7-11 store.
Chris, your suggestion of taking complaints to the legislature over voter suppression does not work if the legislatures are doing voter suppression. Reducing weekend early voting days. Reducing the number of weekdays you can do early voting. Moving voting precincts to difficult-to-get-to locations. Demanding photo-voter identification prohibiting over 10 percent of eligible voters from voting: Ebony voters/tan voters/students/workers using public transportation, people walking to work, people who have lost their home.
Those of you who have attacked me: Your ignorance is your strength; your absolute ignorance is your absolute strength.
CECIL KELLY III
