LETTER: Just 'useless opinion'
The following is a letter in response to Mr. Cecil Kelly III’s letter in the paper:
I’m still wondering where Mr. Cecil Kelly III did his research on Idaho Law, and I’m wondering still where he gets the idea of “harvesting black people,” as this is ridiculous. Do a quick Google search on Idaho laws regarding self-defense, voting, hunting and hunting permits, and you’ll find nothing supporting Mr. Kelly’s arguments. Nowhere are Idahoans permitted to “stalk/corner/kill a black child/a young black adult.” And since that argument falls apart like a house of cards, everything else afterward is useless opinion backed up by nothing. I’m still wondering where Mr. Kelly got these sick ideas from, but like the rest of us, I’m not so sure I want to know.
The 15th Amendment of the Constitution states that “The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude.” Idaho upholds this amendment in its own laws and legislation. And anytime we see a violation of this amendment, we, as citizens of the United States, can take this to our legislature and solve the problem.
