SCHOOLS: Transgender designations unwanted
School officials are developing guidelines (June 3 article) for transgender students.
If you listen to the media, almost every other child is gay, transgender, bisexual and whatever other acronym you want to put on people. Now the board has to develop protocols to handle each and every child. Quoting the article, “How to address transgender students when speaking to them.”
Hello, how about young man, young lady or just use the name their parents gave them? Do we really want local government telling us how we must talk now? Common courtesy and decency, treat others the way you want to be treated, has worked for hundreds of years.
This is more government and local intrusion on how to dictate everyone’s life. Do you want the government to protect everyone’s emotions, no one should ever go through life being offended at anything? All children are winners, no one ever loses, and all get trophies for just showing up. We must protect everyone from any inconvenience in life.
Sounds great until you step outside the protective bubble the government has created.
