Sheila Leone Mejie Anderson, 56
Sheila Leone Mejie Anderson, 56, passed away December 27, 2013, at Kootenai Health Center after a short, unexpected illness.
Sheila was born June 7, 1957, in Havre, Mont., to Irene and Eddie Mejie. When Sheila was 7, the family moved to Hayden, Idaho.
Sheila attended school in Hayden and Coeur d'Alene. At the young age of 7, she began helping out in the family restaurant. Sheila devoted 32 years of her life working at the Owl Cafe alongside her mother, sister, brother, and many loved co-workers. She went on to be part owner of the Owl Cafe. Sheila knew almost every logger, home builder, phone and electric company worker, the coffee klatch ladies, and many loyal customers throughout the years. All those who knew her would agree that Sheila was a unique person. You either loved her or hated her; she was a free spirit who wasn't afraid to speak her mind.
Sheila will be truly missed by her family and friends. She touched so many with her large laugh and big heart.
Sheila was preceded in death by her mother, Irene Swartz; father, Eddie Mejie; three siblings: Cheryl McTaggert, of Hayden; Mike Mejie, of Rathdrum; Tony Downs, of Naples, Fla., and nephew, Steven Mejie.
Sheila is survived by her children: Nicholas Mejie, of Dalton Gardens, Idaho; Sheena Parent, of Rathdrum, Idaho; and Krista Anderson, of Spokane, Wash., and four grandchildren. She had many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
The family is hosting a Celebration of Life service from 3-5 p.m., Saturday, June 7, at 4099 W. Boekel Road, Rathdrum, Idaho. Please bring your stories and memories of Sheila to share with the family. Good-bye Sheila
