Police Blotter: July 25 through July 29

POST FALLS POLICE

Saturday

* A missing 11-year-old boy was located by a cab driver at the Shanty in Post Falls. The boy told police that he left his home after an argument with his mother and was returning home when he was found.

* Approximately 25 disorderly drunk subjects in the parking lot of the Riverbend Inn were contacted twice by officers. The second time the crowd was convinced to either leave or go inside the hotel for the night.

* Officers arrested William Barney on a warrant for failing to appear in court. Barney was also cited for an invalid driver's license, unauthorized use of a handicap placard and failure to show insurance.

Sunday

* Officers responded to a total of 55 calls on Sunday, including five suspicious incidents, five welfare checks and five business alarms.

* Officers responded to reports of a juvenile problem and contacted a female who was violating the terms of her probation by lying about her whereabouts. The incident was reported to her probation officer for follow-up.

Monday

* A resident reported that her car window was broken while the car was parked on Third Avenue. Nothing was taken from the vehicle.

* Graffiti was found at the upper level of Black Bay Park. There are no suspects at this time.

* A woman told officers that her vehicle was struck while parked in the Walmart parking lot. The suspect did not leave any contact information.

Tuesday

* Officers responded to Walmart on Mullan Avenue, where an argument between a male and female in the parking lot got physical. After police took several witness statements, the man was arrested.

* A report was taken of an Internet fraud incident.

* Juveniles damaged a fence in the area of Alfalfa Loop. When officers interviewed the children, they all blamed each other.

KOOTENAI COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE

Saturday

* Deputies took a report for the theft of a license plate from a car parked in front of a home in Hayden.

Monday

* Two mailboxes were damaged on north Wildcat Creek Road in Hayden. Deputies were told there was $130 in damage done to the mailboxes.

* Three no trespassing signs were damaged on Riverview Drive in Post Falls.

Tuesday

* Someone stole $280 worth of gasoline from a home on North Highway 95.

* A home on the 300 block of east Orchard Avenue was burglarized, with the thief or thieves stealing $700 worth of medication and jewelry.

COEUR d'ALENE POLICE

Monday

* A Coeur d'Alene man told officers that when he returned to his vehicle on Monday morning, he noticed the front passenger door was slightly ajar. The man said he may have left the door unlocked and he wasn't sure if anything had been stolen.
