Barreto, Locastro power Canadians past Indians

SPOKANE - Franklin Barreto went 2 for 4 with four RBIs and two runs scored, leading the Vancouver Canadians past the Spokane Indians 11-6 in a Northwest League game on Tuesday night in front of 4,349 at Avista Stadium.

Tim Locastro went 4 for 4 with two doubles and three runs scored for Vancouver (3-5 second half), which finished the game 5 for 11 with runners in scoring position.

Spokane (3-5) took a 4-0 lead after the second inning, scoring runs on RBI singles by Saquan Johnson and a two-run single by Isiah Kiner-Falefa.

Barreto hit a two-run homer in the third inning to pull Vancouver within a 4-2 deficit.

Barreto tied the game in the fifth on a sacrifice fly as Roemon Fields and Locastro scoring on a fielding error to tie the game at 4.

Christopher Carlson singled to score Ryan McBroom to give the Canadiens a 5-4 lead.

Ryan Ledbetter allowed six earned runs on eight hits in 1 2/3 innings for Spokane.

Michael La Cruz doubled to score two runs in the ninth for Vancouver, which finished second in the first half of the league season.

Spokane hosts Hillsboro for a five-game series starting tonight at 6:30 at Avista Stadium.
