Indians ride hot start to win

SPOKANE - The Indians scored all four runs in the first inning and Spokane held off Vancouver 4-2 before 4,184 in Northwest League baseball Sunday night at Avista Stadium.

Jose Trevino had a sacrifice fly and Juremi Profar later singled in a run for Spokane's two RBIs.

Indians starter Reed Garrett went five innings, allowing one run on three hits and striking out six.

Garrett gave way to Austin Pettibone, who gave up three hits and a run in three innings or work.

Indians designated hitter Seth Spivey had three walks and is now batting .357. Shane McCain threw two scoreless innings to pick up his third save for Spokane (2-4 second half), which hosts Vancouver (2-4) again tonight at 6.
