Fugitive receives sentence

IDAHO FALLS (AP) - An eastern Idaho fugitive wanted on drug charges and captured in Oregon after being shot by police has been sentenced on one of the drug charges she initially faced.

The Post Register reports that 32-year-old Shavon Willard on Thursday in Bonneville County received a five-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to felony possession of a controlled substance.

She faces additional drug charges in Jefferson County.

Four officers fired at least 39 rounds on March 6 attempting to arrest Willard and Wayne Pearson in Medford, Oregon, after police say Pearson rammed an occupied police vehicle.

Authorities say Willard was hit twice in the chest, once in the arm, once in the leg, and a fragment struck her right eye.

Pearson's head was grazed.

He faces nine felony charges in Oregon.
