KIDNAP: Victim lauds her heroes
I would like to publicly thank the Coeur d’Alene Police Department for everything they did in relationship to my kidnapping in November of 2013. I would specifically like to thank those in the investigations department. Thank you to Detective Miller for being so wonderful to me that very first night. To Detectives Nic Lowery and Jon Cantrell for the time they put into this case. They worked so incredibly hard. They never gave up. And they never stopped looking, and for that I will be eternally grateful.
I would also like to thank all of the patrol officers who escorted me, reassured me and above all protected me during that first week. I would specifically like to thank Officer Morgan who went above and beyond what I would have ever expected including being the voice of my good news when Mr. Standish was captured.
Lastly I would like to thank the Kootenai County Prosecutors Office, specifically Larry Kirkhart, and lastly and most importantly Jed Whitaker, whose words of support singlehandedly kept me from falling apart during this process.
We have superheroes that live among us. And I have met them. And I want them to know how incredibly grateful I am for what they have done not just for me, but for all of the victims, past and future in our community. There are no words, nor sentiment powerful enough to express this. But I will never forget.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
