Nona Lee Rowe, 79, of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, died July 19, 2014, at Guardian Angel Homes in Post Falls, Idaho, following an extended illness.

Nona was born Jan. 12, 1935, in Clarkston, Wash., to Naomi Warren Wright and Webb Wright. She moved to Rose Lake, Idaho, when she was 9 years old and graduated from Rose Lake High School in 1953, where she excelled at basketball.

Nona married Bernie Rowe on June 12, 1953, in Kellogg, Idaho, and they made their home in Wallace, Idaho, for 15 years before moving to Coeur d'Alene.

Not only did Nona excel in basketball, but also tennis - and especially - golf. She won the Coeur d'Alene golf championship seven times, and also won the Hayden Lake Country Club championship. Throughout her many years of golfing, Nona won several other awards, but her priority was spending time with her children and grandchildren.
