THEATRE: 'My Fair Lady' world class

| July 23, 2014 9:00 PM

The Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre’s production of “My Fair Lady” is one of the best I have ever seen around the U.S. ever since the time I was lucky enough to watch Rex Harrison and Julie Andrews on Broadway in the title roles more than 50 years ago.

The classic musical, now showing at the Kroc Center, is magical with a perfect cast, stunning voices, impressive acting, beautiful costumes, great scenic sets and a wonderful orchestra. When I attended, the audience gave this gem of a show a standing ovation, and I don’t doubt that Lerner and Loewe are doing the same in heaven.

I would also like to praise the Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre for its one-night-only reading of “Around the World in 80 Days,” which was another standing ovation performance.

Kudos to all.
