Book discussion tonight

| July 23, 2014 9:00 PM

David McDonnell will be at Kelly's Irish Pub in Coeur d'Alene at 7 p.m. today to discuss his new book, "ClanDonnell: A Storied History of Ireland."

McDonnell, an author and storyteller in the midst of a national book tour says it will be "an evening of entertaining Irish stories and blarney."

"ClanDonnell" is the winner of three national literary awards and positive book reviews. It is non-fiction with all the elements of a historical novel - fair maidens, multiple beheadings, nasty bar fights, plotted assassinations, hangings, exile, and witches' spells. There are timeless themes of passionate love, family bonds, valor and honor, revenge and political intrigue, as well.

Kelly's Irish Pub & Grill is at 726 N. Fourth St. in Coeur d'Alene. More information about the book, including a few sample stories, is at www.clandonnell.net.
