LEGION BASEBALL: Lums win, finish 4-2 at tourney

BELLEVUE, Wash. - Jonny Plum's sacrifice fly help lift the Coeur d'Alene Lumbermen to a 4-3 victory over Mudville Pinnacle on Sunday in the Lums' final game of pool play at the Baden Northwest Invitational.

Elliott Sparks earned the win on the mound for Coeur d'Alene (19-23), which finished 4-2 in pool play. However, that was not enough to qualify the Lums for bracket play, which began later Sunday.

Coeur d'Alene returns to action Thursday, facing Lewis-Clark in the first round of the class AA Area A (district) tournament, scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at Post Falls High.

Prairie wins twice to

finish regular season

The Prairie Cardinals beat the Missoula Prospects 10-6 and 11-8 on Saturday in nonleague play at Post Falls High.

On Friday, the Cardinals picked up a pair of forfeits when their scheduled opponent, St. Maries, failed to show for the games in Post Falls.

Prairie (24-20) is the No. 1 seed for the Area A tournament, and plays Thursday's Coeur d'Alene/Lewis-Clark winner on Friday at 3 p.m. at Post Falls High.
