Xtreme, Crush still battling

Both the North Idaho Xtreme and Coeur d'Alene Crush '99 are still alive in the losers bracket and will play again today in the 15-team ASA 14-and-under "A" Regional girls fastpitch softball tournament at Ramsey Park in Coeur d'Alene.

The Xtreme beat the Lady Osprey of Missoula 11-6 before losing to the Spokane Crash '99 11-4 to drop into the losers bracket this morning.

The Xtreme will face the Oregon Thunder of Hillsboro in a loser-out game today at 8 a.m.

The Coeur d'Alene Crush '99 lost its first game Saturday 9-5 to the West Plains Bandits of Medical Lake, then beat the Spokane Sliders 10-3 and Spokane Crash '99 12-8 to remain in contention and will face the Forest Grove (Ore.) Breeze today at 8.

Winners bracket

Great Falls Selects 8, Spokane Sliders 0: Jaley Priddy went 2 for 3 with two triples and an RBI and Kloe Thatcher went 1 for 4 with two stolen bases for the Selects.

North Idaho Xtreme 11, Lady Osprey (Missoula) 6: Jalyssa Beamer had two hits and drove in four runs for the Xtreme. Ashley Kaufman had two hits and three RBIs for the Osprey.

Spokane Crash '99 8, Washington Spirit (Richland, Wash.) 3: Emma Profili went 4 for 5 and Ashley Hammond went 2 for 4 with two RBIs for the Crash. Marivel Mapehs went 3 for 3 with two doubles for the Spirit.

Great Falls Selects 12, Forest Grove (Ore.) Breeze 4: Tanaya Krenick hit a 3-run home run in the win for the Selects.

Spokane Crash '99 11, North Idaho Xtreme 4: Hannah Bell went 4 for 5 for the Crash. Bailee Taylor went 3 for 3 for the Xtreme.

Losers bracket

West Plains Bandits (Medical Lake) 9, Coeur d'Alene Crush '99 5: Glori Cheevers went 2 for 4 with three RBIs and a double for the Bandits.

Spokane Crash '99 11, Venom (Centralia, Wash.) 10: Brooke Bowers hit a walk-off home run, finishing 3 for 4 with a stolen base and two RBIs for the Crash.

Washington Illusion (Kelso) 12, Venom 4: Kaylee Strahan doubled and drove in four runs for the Illusion. Abbi Music hit a grand slam in the fifth inning for the Venom.

Spokane Crash 2000 9, Washington Illusion 5: Maddy Kausen went 5 for 5 with three RBIs in the win. Hannah Brock stole four bases, scored three runs and drove in three runs for the Crash.

Oregon Thunder 15, Spokane Stealth 2000 1: Highlights not available.

Raptors 2000 (Vancouver, Wash.) 11, Spokane Stealth 2000 2: Morgan Stradley and Alexis Morrison each went 2 for 3 for the Raptors.
