Walsh one shot back heading into final round at Rosauers

LIBERTY LAKE - PGA professional Brent Walsh of the Coeur d'Alene Golf Club is one shot off the lead after Saturday's second round of the 54-hole Rosauers Open Invitational at MeadowWood Golf Course.

Walsh shot a 3-under par 69 and is at 8-under 136, tied for second with Corey Prugh of Manito Golf and Country Club in Spokane.

2012 champion David Phay of Whidbey Golf and Country Club (Oak Harbor, Wash.) and Ryan Benzel of Pro Golf Discount (Lynnwood, Wash.), the 2005 champ, are tied for the lead after shooting 65-70-135.

Amateur Kyler Gable (Avondale) is part of a seven-way tie for fifth at 7 under after shooting 67-70-137. Mark Poirier (The Highlands) is in an eight-way tie at 6 under (69-69-138).

Other locals making the cut include amateur Reid Hatley (Hayden Lake) at 4 under, Taylor Porter (Avondale) at 2 under.

The tournament concludes today.
