Coeur d'Alene wins opener at state age 9/10 playoffs

Coeur d'Alene knocked off South Boise 12-8 on Friday in the first game of the best-of-3 state Little League baseball playoffs in the age 9-10 division at Duck Alley Field in Eagle.

Coeur d'Alene starting pitcher Dylan Hess threw 3 2/3 innings, Andrew Karns pitched 1 1/3 innings and Marcus Manzardo pitched one inning.

Coeur d'Alene can win the state title with a victory today at noon.

If South Boise wins, Game 3 would be Sunday at 9 a.m.

Nampa Valley 14, Hayden 0: Mateo Scott doubled and singled and scored two runs to lead District 2 champion Nampa Valley past Hayden in the first game of the best-of-3 series for the state title at Duck Alley Field in Eagle.

Breyson Coppess had a single for Hayden, the District 1 champions.

Game 2 is today at noon PDT; Game 3, if necessary, is Sunday at 9 a.m.
