OTTER: Stand up to big oil, railroads

| July 18, 2014 9:33 PM

Governor Otter:

What happens next time, when instead of railcars with airplane fuselages (see photo in the Cd’A Press), it’s a hundred tanker cars of crude oil being dumped into the Clark Fork River? Yes, it’s easy to say “that’s Montana’s problem,” but where does the Clark Fork empty into? Duh! The last I heard it’s Lake Pend Oreille.

If you have the political willpower and would stand up to “big oil” and the railroads and say no to shipments across beautiful Idaho by rail or any other means, and have the cajones to enforce (even temporarily) it would call attention to this disaster that’s waiting to happen.

Lots of luck! I, and millions of others, won’t be holding my breath, and North Idaho, don’t hold yours either.
