ESTIMATES: Get them in writing

Although I’ve lived in Shoshone County for many years, I’m a newcomer to Hayden.

I asked a plumbing company to dewinterize the swamp cooler on my mobile. It’s a very simple task. Take the tarp off, turn the water on, check for leaks and for proper water flow. It would normally take about 20 minutes.

But big mistake. I didn’t ask for a written estimate.

They charged me $180. If my math is correct, that’s a rate of $540/hour.

I would urge everyone to get written estimates.
