Darryl L. Abbott, 74

Darryl L. Abbott passed away on July 16, 2014, on the wonderful Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.

The only son of Homer L. Abbott, Jr., and Naomi Ruth Bennett, Darryl was born on December 25, 1939, in Indiana. He attended Washington High School, graduating in 1956, and promptly joined the Navy. He served proudly for 21 years and retired in 1977.

After retiring from the Navy, Darryl worked for DDL Laboratories for nine years and then worked for AFG Glass for 17 years, until his second retirement in 2003.

Darryl and his wife, Lena, moved to Post Falls, Idaho, in 2005 where they could enjoy their children, grandchildren, and the gorgeous Idaho wilderness.

Darryl is survived by Lena, his wife of 51 years; children: Eric, Muneich and Frank; eight wonderful grandchildren; and his sister, Kay Bollinger.

A Rosary will be held for Darryl at 7 p.m., Sunday, July 20, at the Immaculate Conception Church, 495 N. Lincoln St., Post Falls, Idaho. The requiem funeral Mass will be held the following day at 10 a.m., Monday, July 21, at the Immaculate Conception Church in Post Falls, with a procession to the Washington State Veterans Cemetery, and burial with full military honors, at 21702 W. Espanola Road, Medical Lake, Wash.
