State ASA Xtreme '97 falls in semis at 16U tourney at Ramsey

The North Idaho Xtreme '97 beat the Boise Blast 7-0, then fell to the Idaho Sliders of Meridian 4-3 in a semifinal game on the second day of the state ASA 16-and-under girls fastpitch softball tournament on Saturday at Ramsey Park in Coeur d'Alene.

The Coeur d'Alene-based Xtreme will play a loser-out game this morning at 9:45 against the winner of the Idaho Crush and Boise Blast. That winner will need to beat the Sliders twice to win the tournament.

The Coeur d'Alene Crush, which lost on Friday, was eliminated after losing to the Idaho Crush 13-2 and Capital City Chaos 14-7.

Today's championship game is scheduled for 11:30 a.m.

WINNERS BRACKET

Idaho Sliders (Meridian) 16, South Idaho Ice (Twin Falls) 1: Aubree Creekmore went 3 for 3 with two runs scored for the Sliders. Taylor Detmer allowed three hits and struck out six in the win.

North Idaho Xtreme 7, Boise Blast 0: Martha Tooley went 3 for 4 and drove in two runs, and Alex Douglas pitched a five-hitter in the win.

Idaho Sliders 4, North Idaho Xtreme 3: Rylee Jensen went 3 for 3 with two runs scored for the Sliders, which scored three runs in the sixth inning to rally past the Xtreme.

Abby Howard went 1 for 3 with an RBI and run scored for the Xtreme. Autumn Moffat allowed four hits and struck out five for the Sliders in the win.

LOSERS BRACKET

Idaho Crush (Boise) 13, Coeur d'Alene Crush 2: Ellie Hayousek went 2 for 2 with two doubles and four RBIs, and Elena Cook scattered four hits in the win.

Idaho Crush 4, Capital City Chaos (Boise) 3: Kel Bilger was 2 for 4 with a two-run homer and three RBIs in the win. Trinity Cook was 2 for 3 with two RBIs in the loss.

Idaho Racers (Boise) 12, Hells Canyon Rapids (Lewiston) 3: Jordan Warfield went 2 for 2 with three runs scored for the Racers. Chelsea Wilk went 2 for 3 with a run scored for Hells Canyon.

Capital City Chaos 14, Coeur d'Alene Crush 7: Leah Van Pelt went 3 for 5 with two RBIs for the Chaos. Jana Bessett drove in three runs for the Crush.

Capital City Chaos 10, Hells Canyon Rapids 1: Rilee Newman went 4 for 4 with a home run and four RBIs and two runs scored for the Chaos. Madeline Skinner went 2 for 2 for Hells Canyon.

Idaho Crush 12, Idaho Racers 3: Jordan Hanley went 4 for 5 and Kel Bilger went 3 for 4 with three runs scored and three RBIs for the Crush. Kelly Renfro went 4 for 4 and Kate Manfred went 2 for 3 with three runs scored for the Racers.

Idaho Crush 10, South Idaho Ice 5: Isabelle Butler went 3 for 4 with three runs scored and Ellie Hanoske went 3 for 5 with three runs scored for the Crush. Meghan McQueen and Kassidie Brooks each went 2 for 3 with a run scored for the Ice.

Boise Blast 5, Capital City Chaos 4: Mikayla Frost scored the winning run on a single by Sam Hamilton. Kelly Kukla went 2 for 4 with a run scored for the Chaos.
