One loss ousts Prairie at tourney

CENTRALIA, Wash. - James Prockish had two hits and struck out four, but the Prairie Cardinals came up short 1-0 to the Laces 17's in the opening game of bracket play in the Seattle Showcase tournament on Saturday at Ed Wheeler Stadium.

The loss eliminated Prairie (19-19).

Earlier, Prairie beat the RBI Bandidos Red 8-0 to conclude pool play with an 3-0 record.

Kris Jackson and Blake Wrotenbery had two RBIs each and Dalton Strong struck out five in the win for Prairie.

Prairie concludes North Idaho League play on Tuesday with a doubleheader against Lewis-Clark starting at 3 p.m. at Post Falls High.
