Xtreme wins twice

The North Idaho Xtreme '97 of Coeur d'Alene won two games on Friday to open the Idaho state ASA 16-and-under softball tournament at Ramsey Park.

The Xtreme return to action today at 12:15 p.m. vs. the Boise Blast.

The Coeur d'Alene Crush dropped its opener, 13-2, to the Idaho Sliders of Meridian. The Crush plays the Idaho Crush of Boise today at 8:15 in the losers bracket.

The nine-team tourney concludes Sunday, with the championship game scheduled for 11:30 a.m.

Winners Bracket

North Idaho Xtreme 11, Idaho Crush (Boise) 4: Alex Douglas went 3 for 3 and drove in three runs and Analisa Raynor went 3 for 3 for the Xtreme. Lexi Knauss went 1 for 1 and scored two runs for the Crush.

South Idaho Ice (Twin Falls) 12, Capital City Chaos (Boise) 11: Lindsay Hudleson scored three runs, Rosie Canty went 3 for 4 and Meghan McQueen went 4 for 4 with three RBIs for the Ice. Rilee Newman went 2 for 4 with a home run and four RBIs for the Chaos.

North Idaho Xtreme 8, Idaho Racers (Boise) 0: Alex Douglas pitched a two-hit shutout, and went 2 for 3 with two runs scored in the win. Bryce Catt added a two-run homer for the Xtreme.

Idaho Sliders (Meridian) 13, Coeur d'Alene Crush 2: Autumn Moffat pitched a two-hitter and struck out seven for the Sliders, and she went 3 for 4 with three runs scored. Aubrey Creekmore drove in two runs and scored twice in the win.

Boise Blast 11, Hells Canyon Rapids (Lewiston) 2: Sam Hamilton went 2 for 4 with a three-run homer and three runs scored in the win. Jessica Lambeit struck out six and pitched a two-hitter for the Blast.
