Hayden 10/11s advance to district title game

* AGE 10-11

Spencer Bowlin hit a two-run single in the first inning and an RBI double in the fifth as Hayden beat Lewiston 16-6 in a semifinal game Friday to advance to Sunday's championship game at noon.

Ramie Borley hit a two-run double in the first inning for the winners, and Bryson Coppess and Dalton Cardinel added RBI doubles.

For Lewiston, Cruz Hepburn hit a solo homer in the first inning and Kayden Carpenter added a three-run double in the third.

Post Falls 9, Coeur d'Alene 6: Jacob Ditto struck out seven for Post Falls in the loser-out game. Landon Vergeer homered for Coeur d'Alene, and Von Bunker struck out eight.

Post Falls plays Lewiston today at noon in a loser-out game, the winner needing to beat Hayden twice on Sunday for the district title.

* MAJORS (age 11-12)

Lewiston 3, Coeur d'Alene 1: Panji Woodbury pitched a one-hitter to propel Lewiston into Sunday's noon championship game. Tyson Wallace homered in the win.

Mason Whitaker homered for Coeur d'Alene, and Cooper Grohs allowed just two hits.

Post Falls 10, Hayden 7: Jacob Vasquez had two hits, including a grand slam for Post Falls in the loser-out game. Spencer Zeller went 2 for 3 with a two-run double in the win.

Jake Brown went 3 for 4 with a three-run home run for Hayden.

Post Falls plays Coeur d'Alene today at noon in a loser-out game, the winner needing to beat Lewiston twice on Sunday for the district title.

* AGE 9-10

Sandpoint 8, Coeur d'Alene 7: Hunter Jacobsen struck out seven and Blake Sherrill went 2 for 3 and drove in two runs as Sandpoint advanced to Sunday's 9:30 a.m. championship game.

Dylan Moffat hit a three-run double and finished with four RBIs for Coeur d'Alene, and Quinn Conces added an RBI double.

Hayden 19, Lewiston Purple 14: Liam Paddack homered and doubled and drove in four runs in the loser-out game. Camdyn Martindale had three hits and drove in four runs, Erik Brimbaugh had three hits and drove in two runs, Nick Lafleur hit a two-run double, and Alex Austin had three hits.

Quinton Edmison and Cy Wareham each hit two-run doubles for Lewiston Purple.

Hayden plays Coeur d'Alene today at 9:30 a.m. in a loser-out game, the winner needing to beat Sandpoint twice on Sunday for the district title.
