Tickets on sale today for celebrity golf exhibition

COEUR d'ALENE - Tickets go on sale today for The Showcase, presented by GoPro.

The nine-hole celebrity golf exhibition is scheduled for The Coeur d'Alene Resort Golf Course on Aug. 18. The event will feature professional golfers, along with world-class athletes and celebrities, Fan Zone festivities, an interactive state-of-the-art Nike Golf demo center, a beer garden and concessions.

Tickets are $20 for the Aug. 18 exhibition and can be purchased at www.showcasegolf.com.

The PGA Tour golfers slated to participate in The Showcase will be announced starting next week and throughout the remainder of July, along with a complete list of celebrities.

A preliminary list of participants scheduled to take part in The Showcase events include Gonzaga men's basketball coach Mark Few, Eastern Washington men's basketball coach Jim Hayford, Boise State men's basketball coach Leon Rice, Super Bowl MVP Mark Rypien, Los Angeles Lakers center Robert Sacre, Oregon State men's basketball coach Wayne Tinkle, Idaho men's basketball coach Don Verlin, former NBA players Dan Dickau and Craig Ehlo, and ESPN broadcasters Neil Everett, Sean McDonough and Fran Fraschilla.

"This is going to be a premiere event and a rare opportunity for Inland Northwest golf fans to see the highest level of professional golf up close, all to benefit the local fight against cancer," said Jerid Keefer, Director of The Showcase. Proceeds from The Showcase benefit the Community Cancer Fund, a local non-profit dedicated to aide the fight against cancer in the Inland Northwest.

As part of The Showcase festivities, a celebrity-amateur golf tournament and dinner and auction are also being held on Aug. 17 for individual and corporate sponsors. Event sponsorships are still available.
