Stanton E. Miller, 75

Stanton E. Miller, 75, passed away at Stafford Healthcare at Ridgemont in Port Orchard, Wash., on July 8, 2014.

Stanton was born in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, on December 8, 1938, to Wayne S. Miller and Ruth Worthington Miller. He was raised in Coeur d'Alene, graduating from Coeur d'Alene High School in 1957. Stanton enlisted in the U.S. Navy and returned to Coeur d'Alene after his discharge. 

On April 14, 1983, Stanton married Paula Nielsen. He worked as an electrician for Diamond International in the 60's, for the Electrical Union Local 73 in Spokane, Wash., and Local 46 in Seattle, Wash.

Stanton was a member of the First Christian Church in Coeur d'Alene, Kootenai Masonic Lodge #24, Past High Priest of Oriental Chapter #19 in Seattle, and a member of the Electricians Union in Spokane. He loved snowmobiling, traveling in his RV, and spending the winter in Yuma, Ariz.

Stanton was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Ruth; and sister, Charlotte Ann Wilson. He is survived by his wife, Paula, of Grapeview, Wash., two children: Kimberly Nichols (Marlin), of Lakeland, Fla., and Wesley S. Miller (Jeanne), of Seattle, Wash., two granddaughters: Brooklyn and Delancey Miller; brother, Gordon Miller, of Prosser, Wash., cousin, Nancy Rathke (Fritz), and their children: Ryan and Renee; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside Masonic services will be conducted by Kootenai Lodge #24, AF and AM, at 11 a.m., Monday, July 14,  at Coeur d'Alene Memorial Gardens, 7315 N. Government Way, Coeur d'Alene. Memorials may be made to Shriner's Hospital for Children, 911 W. Fifth Ave., Spokane, Wash., 99204. English Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements and the service.
