COEUR d'ALENE - A burglar wearing an elaborate disguise stole a large amount of money from the cash room of The Coeur d'Alene Resort early Monday morning.

Coeur d'Alene police detective Jared Reneau told The Press Thursday that between 2:30 and 3:30 a.m., a man entered an employee hallway at The Resort.

"The suspect went into that hallway and from that hallway was able to access the accounting office and the cash room," Reneau said.

Once inside the cash room, Reneau said the man took a large amount of money.

"I have a good idea, but at this time we're not going to disclose the amount," Reneau added.

The man, who was seen on Resort security cameras wearing sunglasses, a mask and fake beard, may have used keys to get into the employee hallway, Reneau said.

"At this time there are no hard leads," he said.

The Coeur d'Alene Resort is offering a $5,000 reward for any information leading to an arrest. Reneau said that anyone with information can contact him, or Sgt. Brandon McCormick, at (208)769-2320.
