Prairie wins opener at Seattle tourney

Cardinals continue pool play today against Blizzard

CENTRALIA, Wash. - Dalton Strong doubled to center field to score Jacob Koski in a two-run fourth inning as the Prairie Cardinals "AA" team beat the Tacoma Tugs 4-2 in the opening game of pool play in the Seattle Showcase tournament at Fort Borst Park.

Prairie opened the scoring in the top of the first inning as Treavor Hammell doubled to left field to score Trystan Valente. Hammell scored two pitches later on an RBI single by Jacob Koski to take a 2-0 lead after the first.

Kris Jackson struck out six in five innings and Blake Wrotenbery threw two innings of hitless relief for Prairie, which faces the Minnesota Blizzard today at 8 a.m.
