Fred Warren Edlund, 88, of Post Falls, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family.

Fred was born October 7, 1925, in Breckenridge, Colo., to Alfred and Clema Edlund. The family moved to Spokane when he was a young boy.

On May 27, 1949, Fred married Marjorie Golob, and in 1950 he moved his wife and young daughter to Post Falls. There, Fred and Marjorie established a small farm and raised five children.

After 37 years with Burlington Northern Railroad, Fred retired in October 1985. He enjoyed many years of fishing and traveling. Some of Fred's highlights include numerous trips to Alaska with family and friends, as well as weekly dances with the Kellogg Seniors.
