Childers' homer propels Cd'A

Payton Childers led off the top of the fifth inning with a home run to tie the game at 2, and Coeur d'Alene went on to score four more runs in the inning to beat Hayden 6-3 in bracket play at the Idaho Little League District 1 tournament on Sunday.

Lewiston 14, Post Falls 0: Tyson Wallace pitched a four-inning no-hitter with eight strikeouts for Lewiston. He also hit a two-run homer, and Harrison Smith added a solo shot.

* AGE 9-10

Coeur d'Alene 17, Hayden 2: Marcus Manzardo struck out seven and Caleb Martinez and Quinn Conces each had doubles for Coeur d'Alene. Liam Paddock had two hits and Camdyn Martindale drove in a run for Hayden.

Sandpoint 17, Lewiston 7: Colin Rax hit two doubles and drove in five runs in the win. Ethan Butler added a two-run double and a two-run single, and Auggie Lehman hit an RBI double.

* AGE 10-11

Hayden 8, Coeur d'Alene 5: Dalton Cardinel hit a two-run triple and Spencer Bowlin added a two-run single for Hayden. Brayden Booth and Nick Swenson each had RBI doubles in the win. Gavin Izzard hit a two-run double for Coeur d'Alene, and Landon Vergeer added a two-run single.

Lewiston 19, Post Falls Orange 1: Zack Carpenter and Jace Chance each homered for Lewiston.
