If you want more Fourth of July tradition served up with your barbecue, there are parades, fireworks, music and other activities planned throughout Kootenai County this weekend.

Here's what's on tap:

COEUR d'ALENE

Today's Coeur d'Alene American Heroes Fourth of July Parade starts at 11 a.m. on Sherman Avenue at 15th Street and runs west to Government Way.

There will be music and vendors at City Park from 1-9:30 p.m. There will also be a pie-eating contest at 3:30 p.m. and kids activities at the park.

The fireworks show over Lake Coeur d'Alene starts at dusk between 9:45 and 10 p.m.

The "Backward Bucket Brigade," featuring the Snake Pit roller derby gals, will be soliciting donations during the parade for the fireworks show.

Beer will not be allowed in City Park during the Fourth.

BAYVIEW

Bayview Daze starts at 11 a.m. Saturday with a parade through the center of town and a street fair.

A carnival for kids will be held in the parking lot across from the newly reopened Bayview Mercantile and local bars will have live music Friday and Saturday.

Once dusk hits, Bayview will gear up for its second parade of the day. This time, on the water.

Boaters wanting to participate in the lighted boat parade are asked to meet, in their decorated boats, on the north side of the bay near the Bitter End Marina.

The parade on the dark waters of Lake Pend Oreille begins at 9:30 p.m., followed by a fireworks display.

The Bayview Chamber of Commerce today hosts the Red, White and Blue Pancake Feast from 8:30 to 11 a.m. at the Bayview Community Center.

SILVERWOOD THEME PARK

Silverwood's Fourth of July Fireworks Extravaganza with patriotic music begins at dusk tonight.

SPIRIT LAKE

Spirit Lake's Fourth of July parade sponsored by Visions will start on Friday at 11 a.m. and run from the senior center to Maine Street and City Park.

There will be activities at City Park after the parade until 4 p.m. Games, music and vendors will be among the festivities.

The fireworks show will be 10 p.m. at Volunteer Park at the east end of Jefferson, and will last about 20 minutes.

WORLEY

The Coeur d'Alene Casino Resort and Hotel will hold a fireworks show tonight at 10. Parking is available throughout the resort parking areas, extending south on Old Highway 95. There are Bingo specials offered throughout the weekend. There will be live music each night at the resort.
