John L. Jones, 61

| July 3, 2014 10:29 AM

John L. Jones, 61, passed away June 10, 2014, at his home in Hayden, Idaho.

John was born July 24, 1952, in Richland, Wash. He grew up in San Diego, Calif., where he attended school and spent his down time surfing.

John moved to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, in 1981. He worked as an owner/operator truck driver for 15 years, before becoming a warranty administrator for Kenworth trucks in Spokane, Wash., for 20 years.

John retired, but never slowed down - he stayed busy by furthering his education at the University of Idaho studying Hydrology and Geographic Mapping. He was a member of the board of directors for his local water district in Hayden, and volunteered his time in the North Idaho CASA program.

John loved taking care of "the farm," and his horses, cows and dogs. But most of all, John loved his kids and grandkids, spending as much time with them as he could.

John is survived by his wife of 34 years, Carol LeBlanc Jones, three children: Jonathan Jones (Cami), of San Diego, Calif., David Verdeyen (Amy Koski), of Sheridan, Wyo., and Melissa Boris (Brian), of Las Vegas, Nev., and grandchildren: Kalli Cordon, Koren Verdeyen, Adam Verdeyen, Cade Jones, Ava Boris, and Mason Boris.
