Helbling, a junior from Lake City High, was named to the 2014 Academic All-Western Athletic Conference. To be eligible, a student-athlete must have completed at least one academic year, have at least a 3.2 cumulative GPA and have played in at least 50 percent of the team's contests.

Kyle Johnson

Johnson, who played at Lake City High and Washington State, hit a three-run triple to help the Double-A Mets at Altoona 8-2 on Friday night. Johnson, who finished a home run short of the cycle in the win, is batting .292 (63 for 216) with 45 runs scored and 32 RBIs.

Shea Vucinich

Huntsville Stars

Vucinich, a former Coeur d'Alene High and Washington State standout, is battling .188 in 42 games for the Stars, a Double-A team Southern League team.

In his last 10 games, Vucinich is batting .222 (6 for 27) with a double and five walks.
