Promotions listed for Kootenai County Fire and Rescue

POST FALLS - Kootenai County Fire and Rescue - which covers Post Falls, Dalton Gardens, Fernan Village, Huetter and Stateline - announced recent staffing changes due to retirements.

Lt. Duane Hanna and Engineer Jeff Jensen recently retired. Hanna had 21 years of service and Jensen 17.

The retirements allowed two staffers to be promoted.

Engineer Frank Harwood was promoted to lieutenant and Firefighter/Paramedic Kevin Lawler was promoted to engineer.

Both Harwood and Lawler have more than six years of service with KCFR.

The promotions created two entry-level positions that were filled by Fritz Gibson and Andrew Kaplan. Gibson, a firefighter who is Advanced EMT-certified, is working on becoming a paramedic. Kaplan is a certified firefighter and paramedic.
